Beyond These Stars Strange Transmitter: Where to Place It
The quick answer
Place the Strange Transmitter directly over the Mysterious Ruin’s footprint. A nearby empty tile does not count as the ruin site.
Use the ruin’s footprint
Follow the objective marker to the Mysterious Ruin. Select the Strange Transmitter and position its footprint over the ruin itself.
If you have been trying nearby open ground, move the preview onto the ruin before changing unrelated technology or production settings.
Finish construction
- Check that the blueprint covers the ruin’s original site.
- Connect the construction site to a usable road.
- Read any obstruction warning and deal with the actual obstacle shown there.
- Supply the materials and workers needed to finish the building.
- Look for the communication terminal and incoming dialogue after construction.
Trees have affected the ruin site in older builds. Check your current placement warning rather than clearing a fixed number of trees around every ruin.
Recognise the result
The working communicator connects to the alien technology and opens a terminal with incoming messages and response choices. If the building has not reached that state, inspect its construction and task status at the ruin.
